How to make an image under 10 KB
The tool tries quality levels until it finds the highest one under 10 KB. If even low quality is too big, the picture is made slightly smaller and tried again, so the result always fits.
- Choose the image (JPG, PNG, WEBP or a phone photo).
- The limit is already set to 10 KB - change it if your form says otherwise.
- Press Compress images and download the result.
Common uses
Signatures and passport photos for SSC, UPSC, IBPS, RRB, NEET, JEE and state exam applications, scholarship portals and job forms often have to be 10-20 KB. Check the pixel size your form asks for too - use Resize image first if needed.
What fits in 10 KB
Ten kilobytes is the smallest limit forms use, almost always for a scanned signature (often 140 × 60 pixels, black ink on white). Crop the signature tightly first - empty white paper still costs bytes. A full passport photo at 10 KB is possible only at about 200 × 230 pixels.
Questions
Will my photo look bad at 10 KB?
At 10 KB a full-size phone photo is shrunk noticeably; for signatures and small passport photos it looks fine.
Is the result exactly the limit?
It is always at or under 10 KB (counted as 10,000 bytes, which also satisfies forms that count 1 KB as 1,024 bytes).
