Professional codecs, in your browser
You can keep each image in its own format or convert all of them to WEBP or JPG for the biggest savings.
- JPG - MozJPEG, which makes smaller JPGs than ordinary encoders at the same quality.
- PNG - OxiPNG, lossless: the picture stays identical, only the file gets smaller.
- WEBP - Google's modern format, often 25-35% smaller than JPG.
For upload limits
Many forms accept only photos under 100 KB or 200 KB. Lower the quality step by step and watch the new size until it fits.
Questions
How many images can I compress?
As many as you like; they are processed one after another and downloaded together as a ZIP.
Is quality lost?
PNG compression is lossless. For JPG and WEBP, quality 75-85 looks the same as the original to most people while being much smaller.
