How it works
The PDF is decrypted on your device with qpdf, the open-source PDF toolkit, compiled to WebAssembly. Your file and password are never sent anywhere.
- Choose the protected PDF.
- Type its password (leave empty if it opens without one but blocks printing or copying).
- Press Unlock PDF and download the unlocked copy.
Only for your own files
This tool removes a password you know. It does not crack or guess passwords. Use it only for documents you have the right to open.
Questions
I forgot the password. Can you recover it?
No. Without the password a strongly encrypted PDF cannot be opened - by this tool or any honest one.
Does unlocking change the content?
No. Pages, text and quality stay exactly the same; only the encryption is removed.
