Real redaction, not just a black rectangle

Many PDFs "redacted" with a drawing tool still contain the text underneath - anyone can copy it out. Here, each page with a match is turned into an image after blacking out, so the original text is gone for good. Pages without matches stay untouched.

Tips

  • Add every spelling and format (e.g. "+1 555 123 4567" and "5551234567").
  • Check the result before sharing.
  • Scanned pages have no searchable text - run OCR first.

Questions

Is the matching case-sensitive?

No - "john smith" also blacks out "John Smith".
