An anti-AI filter looks like nothing to people, but changes how AI image editors read your photo.
What an anti-AI photo filter does
Normal filters change colours for people. An anti-AI filter changes pixel values by a tiny amount, chosen so an AI model's image encoder reads the photo wrongly. Photo Shield uses a PhotoGuard-style attack: it changes your photo so the copy an AI editor works from comes out broken - smeared colours and distorted faces - so AI edits made from it look fake.
Why not a normal app?
Most "anti-AI" apps upload your photo to a server. Photo Shield does the work inside your browser, so your photo never leaves your phone or computer.
How to use it (3 steps)
- Open Photo Shield and choose a JPG, PNG or WEBP photo. It stays on your device.
- Leave the bars on full protection (the default) and press Protect my photo. It takes about 1-2 minutes on a recent laptop.
- Check the protection score, then download the protected PNG and post that version.
Honest limits
- It is aimed at AI photo editors built on Stable Diffusion. It does not reliably stop ChatGPT, Gemini or face-swap apps.
- Screenshots, heavy compression and resizing weaken it. Post the downloaded PNG where you can.
- No tool can make a photo impossible to edit. Combine it with private accounts and posting fewer close-up face photos.
